KYARNA is a Yuin singer-songwriter making Country, folk and Americana music rooted in story, place and connection. Her songs move through love, grief, family, memory and the complicated beauty of being human, delivered with a voice that is intimate, honest and unflinching.

A natural storyteller, KYARNA draws on her connection to Country and the people and stories that have shaped her. Her songwriting moves between tenderness and grit, finding space for both joy and grief without looking away from either.

KYARNA has shared the stage with some of Australia’s most respected artists, including Uncle Archie Roach, Paul Kelly, Troy Cassar-Daley, Kasey Chambers, Shane Nicholson and Warren H. Williams. Her live work has taken her to Yabun, Cobargo Folk Festival, Illawarra Folk Festival and Adelaide Guitar Festival. In late 2025, she joined acclaimed Australian songwriter Liz Stringer on her national To Survive tour, performing across seven dates throughout November and December.

In 2025, KYARNA released her debut EP, Lost Soul Love Letters, produced by ARIA Award-winner Matt Fell. Written in part during a life-altering residency in France, the EP marked a significant period of creative and personal development, bringing together songs shaped by love, grief, memory and loss. The EP established KYARNA as a songwriter with a strong instinct for emotional detail and storytelling.

Her songwriting has also begun to receive international recognition. In 2025, My Brother’s Name was named Runner-Up in the international Unsigned Only Music Competition, recognising the song among entries from around the world.

KYARNA is now developing her debut album, Joy Comes in the Mourning, an eleven-track collection exploring what it means to find joy while living with grief. While each song carries its own story, the album is connected by a common thread: joy existing alongside loss, rather than in spite of it. Recorded with Nashville-based Australian producer LOLLIES, the album represents the next stage of KYARNA’s songwriting practice and growing international career.

At the heart of KYARNA’s work is a belief in the power of a good song to tell the truth, carry a story and connect people.
